The J. Laliotis Group is an independent, family controlled shipping company, founded in 1969 by Capt. John Laliotis when he ventured into the ownership of two small dry cargo vessels. The Group in mid-80s, also included in his variety of vessel types, 3 yachts.
Capt. John Laliotis, born in Greece, graduated from Hydra Merchant Marine Academy in the fifties, thereafter serving as deck Officer and Master. Returning ashore, he worked in London and Athens as Assistant General Manager for one of the biggest and most reputable Shipping Groups of Greece at the time.
In 2001 his son, Mr. Vassilis Laliotis, was appointed Head of the Group, succeeding his father in the role.
With almost 50 years of experience owning and operating merchant vessels, the Group is one of the most highly respected and solid, medium sized shipping companies.
